Giuliana Rancic is stepping down from E! News.
The network announced that she’ll transition out of her day-to-day role on the show beginning Aug. 10 but will continue her co-hosting duties on Live From The Red Carpet and Fashion Police.
“For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show,” said Rancic in a statement. “At the same time, I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E! but also executive produce the aspirational new show Rich in Faith for Oxygen as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level. This is such a thrilling time for me and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life.”
Rancic courted controversy earlier this year after commenting during an episode of Fashion Police that Zendaya, who wore dreadlocks to the Oscars, looked like she “smells like patchouli oil and weed.” After the young Disney star posted a statement on on Instagram in response, Rancic apologized about her remarks during an installment of E! News.
The incident ended up prompting the resignations of Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin from the fashion show, which will return Aug. 31 with Melissa Rivers on the panel alongside Rancic and Brad Goreski.
