Bryan Cranston has found his better half for his role as President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Oscar-winning actress Melissa Leo (The Fighter) has been added to the HBO movie All the Way, EW has confirmed. She will play First Lady Claudia Alta Taylor “Lady Bird” Johnson in the project. Lady Bird was played by Betsy Aidem in Robert Schenkkan’s Broadway play.
Leo is the second big addition to the film this week: Anthony Mackie was confirmed to play Martin Luther King Jr. in the movie on Wednesday.
All The Way tracks Johnson from John F. Kennedy’s assassination through his re-election as president. The stage production of All the Way earned Cranston a Tony award last year and broke the box office record for the most money ever made in a single week for a straight play on Broadway.
Steven Spielberg will produce, and Jay Roach will direct. Production on All The Way is slated to start September.
