A year ago HBO announced it’d be bringing the Broadway play All the Way to the small screen, with stage star Bryan Cranston reprising his role as Lyndon B. Johnson. And now, EW has confirmed the project has its Martin Luther King Jr.: Anthony Mackie. The actor known for portraying Sam Wilson/Falcon will lend a hand with the script as well.
All The Way follows LBJ from John F. Kennedy’s assination through his re-election as president. The stage production of All The Way earned Cranston a Tony award last year and broke the box office record for the most money ever made in a single week for a straight play on Broadway.
Steven Spielberg will produce and Jay Roach will serve as director. Production on All The Way is set to begin this September.
