Joni Mitchell’s condition is improving, according to a new update on the singer’s health.

Mitchell’s conservator, Leslie Morris, issued a statement published Sunday on JoniMitchell.com that says she is “speaking well” and “getting better each day” after suffering an aneurysm.

“Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm,” the statement reads. “However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative. The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she’s speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies. She is resting comfortably in her own home and she’s getting better each day. A full recovery is expected.”

On Friday, fellow musician David Crosby confirmed his longtime friend had suffered an aneurysm.

“To my knowledge she is not speaking yet. She is home, she is in care, she is recovering,” he told HuffPost Live. “She took a terrible hit. She had an aneurysm, and nobody found her for a while. And she’s going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury.”

“She’s a tough girl, and very smart,” Crosby added. “So, how much she’s going to come back and when, I don’t know, and I’m not going to guess.”

Mitchell, 71, was hospitalized on March 30 after being found unconscious in her home. Her team has been keeping fans updated via her website — before Sunday’s post, the most recent update came on April 28, saying that Mitchell was alert and “has her full senses.”
