'Another Period's Natasha Leggero opens up about her best (and worst) stand-up experiences

Posted on

Natasha Leggero has swapped jokes with Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately, roasted Justin Bieber and performed stand-up for audiences across the country. Now, the funny lady is taking center stage in Comedy Central’s Another Period – a faux-reality series created, written and executive-produced by Leggero and Garfunkel and Oates’ Riki Lindhome.

For EW’s First and Worst video series, the comedian opens up about the highs and lows of her stand-up career, insisting the first time she performed at The Comedy Store, she didn’t think anyone would actually laugh.

“When people started laughing, the laughter – I had like a visceral reaction and it just started to feel like these waves over my entire body,” Leggero says. “I’ve literally been chasing that feeling and I haven’t gotten it back.”

Another Period premieres June 23 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Comedy Central. To find out what EW thought of Another Period, head on over to our review, available here
