Vanessa Hudgens' Gigi to end Broadway run

The champagne will stop flowing for the Broadway revival of Gigi, which will play its final performance on Sunday, June 21, at the Neil Simon Theatre.

Vanessa Hudgens made her Broadway debut in the title role as Gigi, a young French girl being groomed for womanhood, when the show opened officially on April 8. The cast of the Lerner and Loewe musical includes Victoria Clark, Corey Cott, Dee Hoty, and Howard McGillin.

While the cast performed “The Night They Invented Champagne” on Sunday’s Tony Awards telecast, the show was only nominated for one Tony in the form of a featured actress nod for Clark.

The production—which features a new book adaptation by Heidi Thomas, choreography by Joshua Bergasse, and direction by Eric Schaeffer—will launch a national tour in the 2016-17 season.
