The NBA Finals tipped Thursday night (spoilers: the Warriors won)—but how important could a national sporting event be without a Key & Peele parody?
The comedy duo just released a new sketch in which they play basketball experts Chick Sarica and Bob DiSanzio—uncomfortably accurate old, white names. “We have both made careers watching adult men play a simple child’s game, all while being played more than the President,” Key begins the faux broadcast. Then they go in hard, tackling the dissonance viers may feel while watching pro sports played by questionable athletes like “the convicted spousal abuser.”
Their critique of commentary goes beyond the hardwood—how many times have you heard stupid, indecipherable catchphrases in football?—but it’s spot-on in skewering inane basketball announcers.
Watch above, and get ready for the show’s new season, which debuts July 8.
