The Wicked + The Divine comic has been doing pretty well for itself recently, having just grabbed three Eisner Award nominations, and now a TV option deal.

EW has confirmed that Universal Television picked up the rights to Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson’s comic for producers Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick’s Milkfed Criminal Masterminds.

The Wicked + the Divine, which launched in June 2014 and went on to win the Best Comic at the 2014 British Comic Awards, focuses on human beings with superpowers known as “The Pantheon.” Each member of the group were once a normal person before they were chosen to combine with a deity’s spirit.

In 2006, Gillen and McKelvie first started on comics with the cult Image book Phonogram and later teamed for their GLAAD-Award winning stint on Marvel’s Young Avengers.
