Death, taxes and people asking Emilia Clarke about 50 Shades of Grey. The Game of Thrones star was among contenders to play Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades, but turned the part down because of how the nudity requirements could impact her career.
In a recent interview with the UK edition of Marie Claire, Clarke explained how the decision was difficult.
“I really wanted to work with [Fifty Shades director] Sam Taylor-Johnson because she’s f–king amazing,” Clarke told the magazine during her cover shoot interview. “But there is a huge amount of nudity in the film. I’ll never say, ‘I’m never doing nudity,’ because I’ve already done it, but I thought I might get stuck in a pigeonhole that I would have struggled to get out of.”
Back in March, Clarke made similar comments in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I’d done nudity before and was concerned with being labeled for doing it again,” she said.
