In case you don’t get why Spy is a comedic masterpiece, let 50 Cent, who appears in the film as himself, explain it to you.

In 20th Century Fox’s “50 Cents of Humor” video seriesthe rapper examines four scenes and breaks down their comedic elements. (He reminds us that “Pop culture references are always funny” and “we think all spy’s gadgets are cool.”)

He says he familiarized himself with comedy during appearances on Chelsea Handler and Jimmy Kimmel’s late night shows, along with his experience working alongside Spy stars Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham. “Whenever you’re around comedians, it teaches you to get faster or for you to take a mental ass whooping because they’re so witty,” 50 Cent tells EW.
