It was officially announced Wednesday that the folks behind horror movie documentaries Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II and You’re So Cool, Brewster! The Story of Fright Night have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help finance a new project, RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop, which will detail the making of director Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi classic.

I’d buy that for a dollar!

“To say that RoboCop is a big part of my life is an understatement,” said RoboDoc director Christopher Griffiths in a statement. “It is the film that started it all for me at an age when I probably shouldn’t have been watching it, like many others, but I did, and I have grown up with it and found new things each time I watch it.”

Participants in the project include Verhoeven, producer Jon Davison, cowriters Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner, and cast members Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Miguel Ferrer, and Felton Perry.
