Good Old War: Broken Record debuts, U.S. tour planned

Posted on

With shades of the Beatles’ 1963 classic “I Want To Hold Your Hand” peeking around the edges, Gold Old War debuted its addictive new song, “Broken Record” on Monday. The track also announces the now-duo’s upcoming full-length, Broken Into Better Shape, due June 30 via Nettwerk—Jason Lehning (Alison Krauss & Union Station, Matt Kearney) produced and Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton) mixed the 10-track collection. (Drummer Tim Arnold left mid-production, Keith Goodwin and Dan Schwartz finished the record—Arnold will rejoin as a touring member this summer.)

Via a joint statement Goodwin and Schwartz introduced the track exclusively to EW saying, “We took a serious subject matter and set it to a really upbeat musical backdrop so it feels like your celebrating your release from the hard times.”

They will head out on tour in support of the album in early July and make notable stops at The Roxy in Los Angeles and Pinelands Music Festival before wrapping mid-August. A full list of dates is below.
