Whether to achieve long-term wellness, or in an attempt to get a beach-ready body by Memorial Day, many people toy with the idea of adopting a celebrity’s diet. Complex‘s Sean Evans accepted his co-worker’s challenge of sticking to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s diet for a day—seven meals consisting of 36 ounces of cod, totaling over 4,000 calories.
Well, Evans smelled what The Rock was cooking, and he wasn’t into it. “All my life, I’ve hated fish,” Evans says. “I’ve hated the smell of fish. I can’t stand even looking at a fish, but that’s how The Rock lays it out, that’s how we’ve got to do it.”
Evans took numerous trips to the gym and even did sit-ups in the office to make room for more food, but in the end, the average Joe just can’t handle a diet for someone who’s essentially “the cover of Men’s Fintess.” Evans pukes and skips meal No. 6, eventually admitting defeat. While Evans will return to his diet of Chipotle and bong smoke, his ego remains in tack, daring anyone who thinks they can complete The Rock’s food plan to challenge him.
“If you think you can do better, I’d encourage you to try,” Evans says. “I’m not 270 pounds, but I’m still a beast and I guarantee you can’t come close.”
