If Sweet Home Alabama is your favorite Reese Witherspoon flick, first reconsider that choice, then check out hher new lifestyle site. Draper James, which went live Tuesday, has a bevy of clothes and accessories of the Southern aesthetic for sale. Witherspoon writes she started the site to honor her grandparents—the site’s namesake—and her New Orleans heritage.
“My grandparents taught me everything I know about gracious Southern living,” she pens. “From them I learned to dress and act like a lady, to take pride in my home, to reach out to help a neighbor, and to always invite everyone in for a visit.” It appears there will be regular content on the editorial side, although as of this writing, Witherspoon is the only profiled person and focus of the published blog posts. (It would have been rude for her to decline being first.) There will be a brick-and-mortar component to Draper James, too: The first store will open in Nashville sometime this fall.
