Robert Duvall's Wild Horses looks like a Texas version of The Judge

Posted on

Fifteen years worth of secrets begin to unravel in the trailer for Wild Horses, when a Texas Ranger re-opens a missing persons case with some mysterious circumstances.

Robert Duvall stars as Scott Briggs, an aging rancher who invites his estranged son Ben (James Franco) back home to make amends more than a decade after a falling-out. But the reunion arrives at a bad time, as the local authorities have a few questions for Scott regarding the disappearance of a young ranch hand years ago. Briggs’ other son (Josh Hartnett) stands by his father, even as suspicions grow.

Duvall co-wrote and directed the film, his first time behind the camera since 2002 (Assassination Tango). With cowboys, shoot-outs and family drama, this modern-day Western was chosen as an official selection at the SXSW film festival back in March and will be released in select theaters on June 5.
