'Arrested Development' creator Mitchell Hurwitz returns to 'Community' in paintball episode

Posted on

Gentlemen, assume the party once again: Koogler is back.

The hard-partying, good-time guy that Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz played in a season 5 episode of Community will make his return to Yahoo’s community college-set comedy, EW has learned.

Hurwitz guest-stars in the May 19 episode, titled “Modern Espionage,” which revives the paintball tradition. This time, though, the game is going down secretively, and Greendale’s favorite middle-aged student has a key role in it, as you can see in the photo above (with Danny Pudi’s Abed). “Koogler is the guy to get to,” Pudi tells EW. “He helps connect people to the underground game.”

Hurwitz won’t be the only season 5 guest in the episode. Look for Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani, who played deputy custodian Lapari, to factor heavily into the plot as well.

While you wait for more concrete news on a new season of Arrested, let’s review Hurwitz’s fine work as the Koog in season 5 and as Cool Eric in Workaholics.
