The curtain may not rise on Starz’s upcoming ballet drama Flesh and Bone until Nov. 8, but the series’ new chair-smashing, pointe shoe-cracking, shade-throwing trailer should help make the wait a little easier.
Created by Breaking Bad writer/executive producer Moira Walley-Beckett, Flesh and Bone follows Claire (Black Swan‘s Sarah Hay), a troubled but gifted ballet dancer trying to make it in a New York ballet company. House of Cards’ Ben Daniels plays the company’s temperamental artistic director.
The cast of Flesh and Bone includes 22 professional ballet dancers, including former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Irina Dvorovenko (Kiira), former American Ballet Theatre soloist—and Center Stage star—Sascha Radetsky (Ross), Ballet Arizona company dancer Raychel Diane Weiner (Daphne) and Boardwalk Empire’s Emily Tyra (Mia). Ethan Stiefel, former artistic director of the Royal New Zealand Ballet and a former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer, served as choreographer and consultant.
The cast also includes Josh Helman (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Damon Herriman (Justified), Tina Benko (The Good Wife) and Tovah Feldshuh (The Walking Dead).
