Ahh, the age-old story: kid needs money, kid has a hidden talent for dancing and being shirtless, kid turns to stripping and finds out where he belongs.
If the first trailer is any indication, Jean-Claude LaMarre’s Chocolate City isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel, but it might be trying to steal a bit of Magic Mike XXL‘s thunder—and we are not mad at it. The film tells the story of a college student (Robert Ri’chard) who gets into stripping to help his mother (Vivica A. Fox) make ends meet. Michael Jai White, Tyson Beckford and Ginuwine also star.
Chocolate City will be released in theatres and on iTunes on May 22. Check out the trailer, and then get in line behind Ginuwine’s number one fan, Tom Haverford.
