One of the minds behind the Assassin’s Creed franchise is back with a brand new game, and it looks like he hasn’t lost his love for mining human history for a good story.
Patrice Desilets, one of the co-creators of Creed and director of a few of the game’s earliest entries, announced that his studio, Panache Digital Games, is developing an episodic game called Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Ancestors. The new game was unveiled during the Reboot Develop conference in Croatia, and has been announced on the studio’s official website.
Ancestors will task players with traipsing through “the greatest moments of mankind with a documentary twist.”
Polygon has video of the Reboot announcement, where a few more details about the game have come to light. While no gameplay was shown, a trailer highlighted a number of civilization’s biggest steps in evolution and technological advancement, from the cloning of Dolly the Sheep to the discovery of penicillin to the fall of the Roman empire.
No release or platform information has been announced for Ancestors.
