Johnny Kemp has passed away at age 55.
The Bahamian R&B singer’s body was found floating in water off a beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Thursday, April 16, the Associated Press reports. The exact cause of his death is unclear and is being investigated by Jamaica police.
Kemp—who followed his 1986 self-titled debut with 1987’s Secrets of Flying—is best known for his 1988 smash hit song “Just Got Paid,” which was covered by N’ Sync in 2000. Other tunes by the Grammy-nominated artist include “Dancin’ With Myself,” “Feeling Without Touching,” and “Birthday Suit.”
According to the AP, Kemp was scheduled to perform on a Caribbean cruise organized this week. He is survived by a wife and two sons.
