Future Islands, the Baltimore-based synthpop outfit fronted by Samuel T. Herring and his unbelievable dance moves, is releasing a new track called “The Chase” for Record Store Day this Saturday (April 18). The group recorded the track—which has just been available via live performances so far with their debuting it on tour last month—direct to vinyl at London’s famed Abbey Road studios and plan to make it available at just one retailer. Abbey Road has asked vendors to put their names into a virtual hat (as one might say) by way of social media and then the studio will pick a name Thursday evening.

An exclusive premiere of the track, along with an interview with the band, will air on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6Music show Saturday morning and will mark the group’s first new material since they released their acclaimed album Singles last year. Keep your fingers crossed, hope you live nearby whichever store wins, or just try to enjoy this crowd-sourced video of the track below.
