Amazon’s Casanova pilot now has a leading man: Diego Luna.

The untitled drama project has cast Diego Luna (Elysium) as Giacomo Casanova, the 18th-century Italian man of all trades—musician, author, magician, alchemist, and, yes, the world-famous lover who boasted of his epic affairs, Amazon confirmed on Wednesday. Directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet (Amelie), the show will explore another side of the Renaissance man’s life — his days serving as a spy after he escaped from a Venice prison, where he was serving a sentence for witchcraft, and fled to Paris to start his life over “after his wild ways left him behind bars.”

Miranda Richardson, Bojana Novakovic, Ben Daniels and Amelia Clarkson will star alongside Luna. Written by Stu Zicherman (The Americans), the pilot is currently being filmed in Europe and will be available on Amazon Prime later in the year.
