For the past decade or so, Milwaukee native Juiceboxxx has been creating his own weird, alternate pop culture universe where the borders between rap, dance music, punk, and postmodernism are leaky as hell—and everything’s covered in a thick layer of sweat and intensely vivid digital psychedelia.

During that time, he’s earned a singular sort of underground fame (he’s your favorite party-loving weirdo rapper’s party-loving weirdo rapper). But he continues to keep his audience on its toes. His latest single, “Maniac,” is electro-damaged punk that sounds like what would have happened if a New Wave-era Iggy Pop had still been as totally unhinged as Stooges-era Iggy. The video, in which Juiceboxxx fills a suburban living room with a dangerous amount of cracklingly intense energy, is both super fun and totally freaky, which means it pretty much gives you the full JB experience.

“Maniac” will appear on Juiceboxxx’s latest album, Heartland 99, which comes out June 9 as a co-release between Vinyl International and Juiceboxxx’s label/energy drink/art project Thunder Zone.
