Charlie Puth is not coming on slowly in 2015. Rather, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter-producer’s walking up to the release of his EP with major collaborations—he’s on the Furious 7 soundtrack, singing the hook on Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” and he recruited Meghan Trainor for the first single off his EP, “Marvin Gaye.” It’s a motown-tinged tune destined for the summer charts. (It also makes you wonder if you missed when “Marvin Gaye” became a slang term for getting it on.)

Wednesday, the track got an playful video to match. Puth is singing at a high school dance—where the students are sleeping against the walls and wishing the whole thing was just over—and it doesn’t take much more than one trip through the chorus before they’re all, well, “Marvin Gaye-ing.”
