The Broadway stage will welcome back Tony award-winning actress Linda Lavin next season in Richard Greenberg’s Our Mother’s Brief Affair, the Manhattan Theatre Club announced Tuesday.
Manhattan Theatre Club’s artistic director Lynne Meadow will stage the play, which begins previews on Dec. 28 at Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Opening night is slated for Jan. 20, 2016.
The story follows an ailing mother’s confession of her marital affair to her children. And while her admittance may hold weight outside of their family, her kids aren’t sure that everything their mother says is the truth.
Lavin is known for her part in 1987’s Broadway Bound, which won her a Tony, as well as playing the title role in CBS’s Alice, a gig that earned her two Golden Globes.
No further casting or creative team decisions are available at this time.
