You know how some sports fans describe big events in various fields as “the Super Bowl of [something that doesn’t involve the NFL]”? Well, there’s a large group of people who would say that the Super Bowl is like the WrestleMania of football.
That’s why the WWE spared no expense for WrestleMania 31, which took place Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca. We saw friendships and betrayals, epic wins and losses, title changes and debuts—almost too much to keep track of. But don’t worry, EW has your back. In case you were feeling overwhelmed, we’ve gathered the best entrances and moments you need to watch over and over again.
The 5 Best Entrances
Sting made his long-awaited WrestleMania debut in dramatic fashion. The Vigilante (of the not-hooded sort) is best known for his run in WCW and TNA, only recently making his way to WWE. Unfortunately, this cool entrance couldn’t save him from losing to Triple H.
At WrestleMania, you pull out all the stops. Rusev may have been the villain in this tale—but who can resist a massive tank.
3) Triple H
Triple H really wanted to show everyone that he would terminate the competition. Sporting a mask that looks part T-800 and part Danny McBride’s cannibal crown in This Is the End, this is one image we’ll never unsee.
4) The Undertaker
Undertaker, who is now 22-1 at WrestleMania, evoked lightening (and the wrath of those left with the electric bill) to spook his opponent.
5) Roman Reigns
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework!
Honorable mention: Bella Twins
They’re so in sync, they could be a boy band.
5 Memorable Moments
1) Seth Rollins wins WWE World Heavyweight Title.
It’s been a long time coming, but Seth Rollins finally cashed in his Money in the Bank contract—and it paid off. While Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns wore each other down in the main event, Rollins took advantage and pinned Reigns for the win.
2) Ronda Rousey takes down Triple H.
Things got a little rowdy when Stephanie McMahon and Triple H confronted The Rock. After receiving a harsh slap from Stephanie, The Rock enlisted the help of UFC’s Ronda Rousey to make things even.
3) This surprise RKO.
The Viper, also known as Randy Orton, garnered infamy for sneaking up on his opponents to deliver his finisher—The RKO. It even became an Internet meme. And while it’s often imitated, we’re sure no one will come close to this one.
4) NWO and DX come out for Sting vs. Triple H.
This technically wasn’t a match, but no one expected to see members of both New World Order and D-Generation X show up. Bonus points for Shawn Michaels welcoming Sting to Wrestlemania with a superkick to the face.
5) Daniel Bryan’s special guest.
Daniel Bryan winning the Intercontinental Championship had everyone shouting “YES!” But when Bret Hart popped up to congratulate the new champ, things escalated from “YES!” to “Damn!”
Bonus: Brock Lesnar remixed.
Brock Lesnar promised plenty of suplexes but we’re sure he wasn’t expecting this.
Bonus: This amazing fan reaction.
WrestleMania was intense and we’re going to need a moment—or several.
