Ellen DeGeneres would like to take you on a first date.
NBC announced on Friday that it has ordered eight episodes of First Dates, a reality series executive-produced by the comedian/talk show host in which cameras capture all the wonder, excitement, awkwardness or disappointment that occurs when two people meet for the first time in hopes of becoming a couple. “Viewers will judge for themselves about how the couple is interacting and whether they are a good fit for one another,” said the network in a statement.
The show, which is based on the U.K. series that launched in 2013, will document a series of first dates that are taking place at the same restauarant on the same evening. First Dates has not been given a premiere date yet, but will begin filming episodes this summer in Chicago.
