British pop singer Lil’ Chris, whose career took off after he appeared on the UK reality show Rock School, has died at age 24, the BBC reported.
Rock School star Gene Simmons confirmed the death on Twitter on Tuesday.
Simmons worked with a group of teenagers from a UK high school to transform them into a rock band. Hardman ended up becoming the breakout star of the series and released the single “Checkin’ It Out” shortly after it aired in 2006. The song went on to hit No. 3 on the British charts.
According to the BBC, Suffolk Police said they were not treating the death, which was reported on Monday, as suspicious.
Hardman’s last single, “Christmas Number One,” was released in December 2013. He recently performed in the West End production of the musical Loserville.
