Sufjan Stevens' 'Carrie & Lowell' is streaming

Posted on

Sufjan Stevens’ long-anticipated seventh studio album, Carrie & Lowell, is now streaming. Guided by the spare pick of an acoustic guitar, the singer-songwriter’s first full-length since The Age of Adz in 2010 feels aesthetically closer to his bare-bones 2004 release Seven Swans, and delves into darker and far more personal territory than he has in the past—specifically his convoluted relationship with his long-troubled mother, her death, and his resulting crisis of faith.

Carrie shows Stevens on his knees, heart in hand. He will head out on tour in support of the album April 10, a full list of dates is below.
