Yup, that’s Snoop Dogg on the Iron Throne of Westeros as the rapper stopped by HBO’s Game of Thrones exhibit at in Austin (it’s not the original Iron Throne, that one’s in Belfast; this is a replica). Snoop Dogg (or should we now call him Snoop Hound?) appeared to promptly light up in this photo from Esquire.
PREVIOUS: It’s true: Snoop Dogg is developing a series for HBO. The musician announced on stage during his keynote at the South by Southwest conference in Austin on Friday that he’s working on a show for the premium cable network.
The series is set in 1980s Los Angeles, HBO confirms. Not much else is currently known about the project. But Snoop did tell the Texas crowd an anecdote about getting high with fellow pot enthusiast and local legend Willie Nelson that’s probably more fun to read about anyway. According to the AP:
Snoop and Nelson collaborated on the song “My Medicine” and he said “it was love at first sight.” … Snoop went to Amsterdam, where Nelson was on tour, and worked on the track. After smoking so much marijuana, they decided to get food.
“They give us the bucket of chicken, we open it up, boom, and me and Willie stuck our hands in at the same time and we grabbed the same piece of chicken,” he said, as the audience laughed again. “And I look at Willie, I was like, ‘That’s you dog, my bad.’ “That was one of the greatest moments in my life.”
