President Obama reads Mean Tweets on 'Kimmel,' talks Ferguson

President Barack Obama made his first in-person appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, discussed racial strife in Ferguson, Mo., deflected Kimmel’s questions about aliens, and read some Mean Tweets. “I have to say, though, those weren’t that mean,” Obama told the host, after reading some mild insults. “You should see what the Senate says about me.”

Kimmel jokingly introduced the president as the “first Kenyan-born Muslim socialist ever elected to run this country,” and their conversation alternated between serious and silly. Obama got to plug his Student Aid Bill of Rights, but Kimmel was more interested in Area 51 and the existence of aliens—a question he would immediately seek if he was ever hypothetically elected president. “That’s why you will not be president—[if] that would be the first thing you would do,” said Obama. “The aliens won’t let it happen.”
