Helen Mirren has some words for Ryan Reynolds in 'Woman in Gold' clip

Posted on

Is a Helen Mirren insult the best kind of insult? Probably, as you’ll see in this exclusive clip from Woman in Gold. An accented Mirren tells Ryan Reynolds: “You are quite rude, you are a little uncouth, and you are completely disinterested in the past.”

The film is based on the true story of how Maria Altmann (Mirren) attempted (and succeeded in) getting the Austrian government to give back her family’s Gustav Klimt paintings that were stolen by the Nazis. Reynolds plays the lawyer, Randol Schoenberg, whose counsel she seeks, but he has a connection to Austria too. “Your grandparents came here from Austria. You see, we share the same history,” she says in the clip.

The movie is due out April 3.
