The 30th annual Independent Spirit Awards were held Saturday, and the winners circle holds few surprises. Birdman added another Best Feature award to the pile it’s collected from the Director’s Guild Awards, Producer’s Guild Awards and SAG Awards earlier this year. The film took home the most total prizes, three, with the other two coming for Michael Keaton in Male Lead and Emmanuel Luzbeki for Cinematography. Best Director went to Boyhood’s Richard Linklater. The other major acting awards played out much as predicted: Julianne Moore continues her streak towards a Best Actress Oscar, while heavily-favored nominees Patricia Arquette and J.K. Simmons picked up the prizes in the supporting categories.
