Bruce Sinofsky, the Oscar-nominated director of the acclaimed Paradise Lost trilogy of documentaries, has died. He was 58.
The news came from Sinofsky’s longtime collaborator Joe Berlinger, who announced the filmmaker passed away Saturday morning via Twitter.
According to Deadline, Sinofsky died from health complications due to diabetes, and a memorial service will be held in March.
In addition to his Paradise Lost films—which followed a group of men known as the West Memphis Three that were convicted as teenagers for the murder of three boys—Sinofsky also directed Brother’s Keeper and Metallica: Some Kind of Monster.
