'Fifty Shades of Grey' will not be released in Malaysia

Posted on

Those under 18 might not get to see Fifty Shades of Grey in the U.K., but no one at all will get to see it in Malaysia: The film wasn’t approved by the Malaysian Film Censorship Board and, as a result, won’t be released there, Universal Pictures confirmed to EW.

Fifty Shades of Grey is based on an erotic novel of the same name by E.L. James and presumably features lots of sex—enough to warrant it the 18-and-over rating in the U.K. and an R rating in the U.S.
