'Wet Hot American Summer' adds Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig

Posted on

The talent piling onto Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer prequel is increasingly impressive. Now the series has cast Chris Pine and Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig and Jason Schwartzman — all for recurring or guest-star roles, EW has confirmed.

According to Deadline, Hamm will play “a secret spy,” Wiig is “a snobby counselor at the preppy rival camp Camp Tigerclaw,” while Pine’s character is not yet known.

The eight-episode series from writers Michael Showalter and David Wain already has a long list of names attached, including original actors Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Janeane Garofalo, Christopher Meloni, David Hyde Pierce, H. Jon Benjamin, Paul Rudd, Michael Ian Black and Bradley Cooper.

Wet Hot 2 will take place on the first day of camp during the summer of 1981 (the original movie took place on the last day of camp that same year). The news comes on the heels of this teaser being released.
