Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein musically preview 'Portlandia'

Posted on

Portlandia creators and stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are both musically inclined: Armisen’s currently the bandleader on Late Night with Seth Meyers, while Brownstein’s a founding member of Sleater-Kinney. So it only makes sense that the two would bring some instruments into the mix to preview the latest season of their IFC show.

In the clip, Brownstein plays a woodblock while Armisen sticks to the ukulele. The two also describe the season with a spoken-word performance featuring talk of Toni and Candace, hypochondria, and—what else?— taxidermy. You know, standard Portlandia stuff.

Portlandia airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on IFC.
