ABC cancels John Stamos' 'Members Only' drama before premiere

Posted on

Despite some of the promising names attached to the project and its straight-to-series pickup, midseason drama Members Only has been canceled by ABC before its premiere, EW has confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.

The show, which was formerly titled The Club, followed an “upstairs/downstairs” scenario at a tony Connecticut country club, starring John Stamos. Stamos played Randy, a fast-talking hedge fund billionaire whose “in” at the country club is his wife, Mickey, played by Natalie Zea. The series also starred Boris Kodjoe, Luke Mitchell, and Breaking Bad’s Betsy Brandt.

The series was created by Erin Brokovich writer Susannah Grant, who executive produced alongside Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. Director David O. Russell was announced to be attached to the project, but exited a month later.
