Robin Schulz shares a playlist that's heavy on the Robin Schulz

German producer Robin Schulz got a big boost recently when his bongo-driven remix of Mr. Probz’s slow jam “Waves” went massively viral, reaching as high as No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. But Schulz is about more than simply combining deep house and soul. To celebrate his latest success, a remix of French folk-pop duo Lily & the Prick’s “Prayer in C” (which is doing “Waves”-like numbers on YouTube and Spotify), Schulz gave EW a playlist that goes heavy on his own remixes but also includes some unexpected selections like Chet Faker and SOHN.

Caribou – “Back Home”

“Simply my absolute favorite track at the moment. I can really relax with it and forget everything else happening around me.”

When Saints Go Machine – “Fail Forever”

“The voice is simply breathtaking and unique for me—this high pitch—just amazing!”

MK & KANT – “Ey Yo”

“I’ve been playing in my DJ sets since it was released und think the track is really cool because of the pitched-down hip hop vocals and that the track really pushes forward.”

SOHN – “Artifice”

“SOHN is one of my favorite artists and I would love to hear and see him live. I have a lot of his albums/tracks.”

Chet Faker – “I’m Into You”

“This is an artist that just came to my attention a few days ago. I heard the track in the car of a friend of mine and fell straight in love.”

David Guetta – “Dangerous (feat. Sam Martin) – Robin Schulz Remix”

“David asked my management if I would like to remix his track “Dangerous.” After I heard the track in its original version I didn’t hesitate for a second and agreed. I of course felt really honored.”

Robin Schulz – “Sun Goes Down (feat. Jasmine Thompson) – Radio Mix”

“I worked on this song for at least two months last summer and looked at the sunset out of my window every day. This is where the title of the track comes from. I’m very proud of this track–it cost me a lot of energy, but it was worth it.”

Lexer & Nico Pusch – “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off”

“Lexer is a great colleague of mine. He has a really cool sound and it was important to me to feature him on my album. I think the track fits very well on my album.”

Robin Schulz – “Warm Minds – Radio Mix”

“The song is already two years old—but I still like it a lot! The whole song is based on a guitar sample that is played backwards. It turned out to be pretty emotional.”

Coldplay – “A Sky Full Of Stars (Robin Schulz Remix)”

“Nobody needs to spell out Coldplay, do they? It is of course a very great honor to be able to make an official remix for this band. I was very nervous! But I think that it turned out pretty well. I hope of course that the guys from Coldplay think so too.”
