While listeners love to be able to put their own meaning on the lyrics of a song, sometimes the story behind a track’s inspiration is too incredible to ignore. Such is the case with Robyn and Kindness’ “Who Do You Love.”
The track appears on Kindness’ album Otherness, and though it was co-written by Robyn and the man behind Kindness, Adam Bainbridge, the story behind the song comes from someone else.
Time spoke to Robyn and Bainbridge about the song’s history, including the Swedish metalhead the two met on a drunken night in Stockholm who influenced the song. Both artists tell how a night of karaoke—and a lot of drinking—turned into a much more memorable night.
