Lollapalooza announced that it is adding a fourth international location next year, bringing the festival to Berlin.
“I’m extremely excited to finally bring Lollapalooza across the pond to Europe. Berlin’s energy, vibrant art, fashion, and music scenes are a mirror reflection of what Lollapalooza is all about, and I can’t wait to share in this cultural exchange,” founder Perry Farrell said in a statement.
The Berlin festival will take place Sept. 12 and 13 at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport. In addition to its American home base in Chicago, Lollapalooza has established festivals in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina, but Berlin will be Lollapalooza’s first European stop. An edition in Tel Aviv was planned for 2013, but was ultimately canceled.
