British soul singer Sam Smith has had a breakout year: His collaboration with Disclosure finally caught on in America, and his debut solo album In the Lonely Hour turned into a surprise runaway success.
In a sure sign that he’s made it into the upper echelons of pop stardom, Smith’s rumored to have been tapped to sing the theme for the as-yet-untitled fourth James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig, due out next November. According to Page Six, he’s in talks with series producer Barbara Broccoli about the gig, having supposedly beaten out Lana Del Rey for it.
Smith’s been denying rumors about a Bond theme since the summer. His rep tells EW “it’s not confirmed.”
