Emmy-winning The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick is teaming up with The New Adventures of Old Christine creator Kari Lizer for an upcoming HBO comedy about a nun gone rogue.
The two will executive produce the half-hour, single-camera comedy for Logo Here in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The untitled show will follow Sedgwick’s Kate, a nun who, but disillusioned by a lifetime of service to the church and a failed marriage, walks out of the life she’s led since she was 17. “No longer ‘Sister Katherine,’ she’s turned her back on her old life and now finds herself coming of age, trying to figure out who she is without her vows and what it means to be an ordinary woman. A person who believes in believing, she’ll try to figure out what or whom she’ll put her faith in now.”
