Everybody may love Raymond in America, but in the Czech Republic, they’ll soon be going crazy over some guy named Rudy.
Sony Pictures Television announced a deal on Friday for a Czech Republic version of the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. Czech TV, the country’s public broadcasting station, has ordered a full 12-episode season that will be produced by the local production company Film Brigade. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the deal.
The show, titled Everybody Loves Rudy, will begin production this year with a planned broadcast in 2015. Sony Pictures Television, who owns the international rights to Raymond, is making its first deal in the country with Rudy.
This edition of Raymond won’t be the first international remake, however—a popular version exists in Russia under the title The Voronins, Everybody Is Crazy About Jack is the name of the Dutch remake, Egypt’s version translates from Arabic to mean Close Doors, and an Israeli remake called You Can’t Choose Your Family ran for 10 episodes.
A pilot was also filmed for a British remake called The Smiths, but the show never went to series. Ashort-lived dub of the show existed in Poland for four episodes.
