Adele’s past two albums, 19 and 21, were named after her current age. So when the Oscar-winning singer tweeted, “Bye bye 25… See you later again in the year” in May, fans took that to mean that an album, titled 25, would be coming before 2014’s end. But a new financial report confirms it’s not happening — at least not before January.
The news came in a financial report filed by XL Recording, Adele’s label: “There will not be a further new release by Adele during 2014 and consequently there will be a fall in XL’s turnover and profits,” the report read, according to the New York Times.
XL Recording declined to comment.
