The threat of Jack U music has loomed large this summer: Skrillex becoming increasingly present on the MDBP tour, a stint at Hard Summer, sets at Burning Man, a (scheduled but canceled due to weather) set at Electric Zoo, and the live performance recording of “Take U There.”
Finally, we have a studio recording.
“Take U There” by Jack U featuring Kiesza is out this week, streaming on BBC Radio here, and will likely be unavoidable on dance floors everywhere for the foreseeable future. Following the song is a quick interview with Diplo and Skrillex, discussing the track’s genesis. (Spoiler alert: It was on a whim in Ibiza.) The track is also available for purchase on iTunes.
Diplo and Skrillex also announced they’ll play a show to ring in the new year in New York City for under $200 at Madison Square Garden. (In New York, that price is a steal.) Special guests haven’t been announced yet, but Diplo and Skrillex will perform solo sets along with a collaboration set. Who will be onstage at midnight is TBD.
And I know it’s hard to imagine a world without it at this point, but the Mad Decent Block Party tour is winding down. Last weekend saw the crew roll through Phoenix, L.A., and San Diego.
And the final stop is this upcoming Sunday in Vancouver.
If you need a little music refresher heading into the weekend,
Diplo just added nearly 100 new songs to this playlist.
