At first, it seemed this might be a slow week in the world of Diplo. He appeared to be vacationing in the alps, enjoying croissants and taking in the scenery:
So I started thinking—maybe I should take it easy. Relax. Let him have some Diplo time. Recharge the battery and whatnot.
Then he reminded everyone,
and went to Bestival before heading to New York, before a studio session with Alicia Keys, before the Jeremy Scott party… you get the idea. So let’s begin.
Diplo headed to the Isle of Wight, England for day four of Bestival, the festival with the Guinness Book of World Records-certified largest disco ball to perform with Major Lazer. Photo evidence and his firsthand account assure that it was awesome.
LAZERS NEVER DIE!
Then, as Fashion week fell on New York, he jumped back across the pond: shows, parties, after-parties, models, more shows, more parties. You know who loves parties and after-parties (and probably also models)?
Bonus: They brought Madge up to the DJ booth for a spin.
And in the midst of the madness, he found time to head to Scores with Alicia Keys and Madonna.
(Let us pray we hear this collaboration soon.)
As well as get in the studio with Armand van Helden.
And he rapped about, um, unique ways of saying hello (?) with Channing Tatum and Jillian Bell. I’m not positive, but I think I love it.
Diplo also updated his Diplo-Approved Soundcloud Playlist. Check it out here. Or find him this weekend as the Mad Decent Block Party rolls through Phoenix, L.A., and San Diego.
