Radio On the TV: A Fall Playlist

Music supervisor Season Kent, who selects the songs that soundtrack each episode of ”Arrow” and ”Revenge” (plus much-anticipated newbie ”The Flash”), tells EW what’s on her radar right now

Posted on

Jessie Ware, ”Say You Love Me”
”I can definitely see this in Arrow. With that show especially, the lyrics really need to be dead center with what’s happening on screen.”

Broods, ”Sleep Baby Sleep”
”It’s a sweet, sad, dark song that would work really well on Revenge — especially in a montage.”

Seinabo Sey, ”Hard Time”
”She’s European, and I just really like her voice. She’s got this R&B-pop feel with a soul vibe.”

Future Islands, ”Seasons (Waiting on You)”
”One of my favorite records of the year. I haven’t been able to find a place for them yet, but I’m trying!”

Spoon, ”Do You”
”It has a summer feel that would be great for an opening scene.”

Son Lux Feat. Lorde, ”Easy”
”Definitely left of center. There’s a darkness to it, but an accessibility, too.”

Hozier, ”Like Real People Do”
”He has that Bon Iver guy-from-the-woods vibe to him — that really soft, breathy vocal quality.”

alt-J, ”Hunger of the Pine”
”It samples Miley Cyrus, and it’s so badass. I’m dying to use it!”

First Aid Kit, ”Shattered & Hollow”
”We were considering it for The Fault in Our Stars [whose sound-track Kent also super-vised]; it just didn’t work. It’ll find a home.”

The War on Drugs, ”Eyes to the Wind”
”A really special song. This needs a featured spot — I don’t want it to just end up in the background under dialogue.”

Adanowsky, ”Rock Me”
”Just a total indie-pop fun summer jam. I’m definitely saving it for Flash.”
