Halle Berry’s sci-fi thriller opened to mixed reviews — and mixed numbers — in the ratings Wednesday night.
On one hand, the Extant series premiere had 9.4 million viewers — a good number for a summer show (the largest for a scripted series premiere so far this summer, not that there’s been a lot of them on broadcast). Among adults 18-49, the ratings are more modest — a 1.7, down 48 percent from last summer’s Under the Dome series premiere. Gotta wonder: Would the show have delivered a bigger number if it wasn’t saddled with such a cryptic title? Here’s EW’s take on the debut.
Let’s see, what else from last night? CBS’ Big Brother (1.9) was up 6 percent from last week and Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance (1.2) was down another notch.
