Haley Joel Osment is all grown up and smoking weed — as a guest star in the second season of web series Next Time on Lonny.
The reality show spoof follows the titular character, played by series co-creator Alex Anfanger, as he deals with not-so-serious problems like awkward first dates and butt dials. Osment goes way back with Anfanger — they went to college together at New York University — and was a fan of the series from day one. “When I heard they were doing a second season, I called Alex and told him he’d be in trouble if he didn’t let me tag along on one episode because I’m such a big fan,” Osment told EW.
Osment wasn’t the only person intrigued after watching season 1: Adam Scott and Patton Oswalt are just two of the guest stars set to appear in upcoming episodes, and Ben Stiller is a fan as well. His production company Red Hour Digital partnered with Maker Studios to distribute Lonny‘s second season, which was previously distributed by YouTube.
In Osment’s episode, his character and Lonny lament about the state of society as they pass a joint. “The comedy comes from these little scenes going into completely unexpected directions,” Osment said. “It just turns into this hilariously overblown catastrophe.”
The second season of Next Time on Lonny, created by Anfanger and Dan Schimpf, premieres June 3 on Maker.TV. After that, Maker.TV will release one new episode every Tuesday and Thursday until June 29. New episodes will also be available on Maker’s Nacho Punch YouTube channel the day after their original air date.
